Forgery in the manner of another painter: A work, which was painted in styles of an artist, with the wrong reference, it is an original of the artist.
Identical Forgery: A copy of an existing work, with the wrong reference, it is the original.
Copy: A copy of an existing work, without the reference, it is the original. But: The original painter must be dead for at least 70 years.
Caution with the law: The production itself of a new master’s piece is not illegal. It only becomes illegal, when the product is to be sold as an original. The price demanded by the artist can be counted as a scale for the price, which is to be paid. Betrayal is not dependant on the price paid, but of the intention of buying the painting. If it has been bought because of wrong information from the seller, it is considered illegal. Forging of verification certificates is also illegal. |
